Call for proposals for thematic round tables

The Society of Historical Studies of Navarre presents the 9th edition of the General Congress of History of Navarre to be held in September of 2018. This new edition once again aims to be a personal and intellectual meeting point for all the historians and promoters of the discipline with Navarre as the object of research.

The proposed motto is the 9th General Congress of History of Navarre: Old and New frontier spaces. The concept of frontier aims to draw an ideal difference between old and new, between alien and domestic, between what is admitted and what is strange; Also betweenthe new areas of historiographic knowledge. Any topic of political, social, economic, cultural history, etc., can be addressed from the perspective of the frontier, highlighting the trend of novelty, projection, influence, etc., that is typical in the history of Navarre.

Thematic round tables

The Congress will be structured through thematic round tables. The term for presenting proposals for thematic round tables is until 31 October 2017. These proposals must be sent by e-mail (congresohistorianavarra@gmail.com) to the Congress Secretariat and will be evaluated by a scientific committee formed by specialists from the Society of Historical Studies of Navarre. Each proposal shall include the title of the round table with a brief definition of its aims and content (300 words). In addition, the name of the proponent, their professional affiliation, address (post address and email) and contact telephone will be registered.

Once the thematic round tables have been approved by the Scientific Committee, during the month of November in a second circular notice, the titles and coordinators of all the round tables will be published and the term for submitting communications and posters will start, which should be addressed to the aforementioned coordinators. The deadline for communication proposals will end on 31 January. The coordinators of the round tables will reply to the proponents on the admission of their proposals before 28 February 2018. All the communications and posters will be framed within these thematic tables.
